Summary:

Pg. 259 (fig. 2), 263. Falcon sandstone member of Cook Mountain formation. Proposed for upper 500 feet, approximately, of Cook Mountain formation. Characterized by massive cross-bedded fossiliferous marine sandstone beds. Underlies La Perla shale member (new) of Yegua formation; overlies Veleno member (new) of Cook Mountain formation. [Age is Eocene (Claiborne).]
Named from town of Falcon, on American bank of Rio Grande, 2 mi north of Starr-Zapata Co. line, western TX.
