Summary:

Named for exposures at type section in north wall of Eva Creek mining cut in NW 1/4 of sec.5 T1S R2W, 16 km west of Fairbanks, Fairbanks D-3 quad, AK. Composed of peat lenses, sticks, logs, and rooted stumps in loess-like silt rich in minute carbonized plant fragments. Silt is reworked loess and soil. Thickness is 1 m. Unconformably overlies Gold Hill Loess. Conformably underlies Goldstream Formation (new). Radiocarbon ages obtained on stumps range from 56,900 to 24,000 yr B.P. Assigned Pleistocene (Sangamon) age.
