Summary:

Named for occurrence in valley to east of Estelle Mountain, Perris-Elsinore area, Riverside Co, CA. Quartz diorite is distinct in hand specimen from Perris quartz diorite (new). Intrudes Temescal dacite-porphyry (new). Age given as Late Jurassic(?).

Summary:

Estelle quartz diorite of Dudley (1935) is redescribed as Estelle tonalite. Resembles Green Valley tonalite more than it does Bonsall tonalite. Rock is light gray with grains up to few mm in length. Occupies about 2 sq mi and intrudes Temescal Wash quartz latite porphyry (new) which surrounds it on all sides. Map legend shows age as Cretaceous.
