Named the Eltey Mountain granite for Eltey Mountain, upper Missisquoi Valley, north-central VT. Consists of medium- to fine-grained biotite granite that forms elliptical to tabular plutons emplaced nearly parallel to steeply dipping beds of enclosing metamorphosed sedimentary and volcanic rocks, which are generally the Moretown formation and its Coburn Hill volcanic member. The Eltey Mountain is of Devonian age.
