Summary:

Also referred to as Elijah Hornfelsic Schist. Narrow eastern metamorphic belt in Skagit region of Northern Cascades, WA, is separated from Skagit Gneiss and Gabriel Peak Orthogneiss by late mid- and Late Cretaceous Ross Lake fault. Belt comprises Jack Mountain Phyllite (new) and Elijah Ridge Schist (new). Elijah Ridge Schist was derived from pre-Late Jurassic, late Paleozoic or Mesozoic volcanic-sedimentary North Creek Volcanics (new). The medium-grade metamorphism of Elijah Ridge Schist represents lower-pressure type than that of Skagit Suite.

Summary:

Both metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks are common in unit. Also contains minor orthogneiss derived from trondhjemite to dacitic dikes. Elijah Ridge Hornfelsic Schist can be traced southeastward into North Creek Volcanics (of latest Paleozoic(?) or Mesozoic age).
