Summary:

Eaton sandstone (in newly defined Grand River group) proposed for uppermost sandstones forming bluffs or ledges along valley of Grand River and its tributaries in vicinity of Grand Ledge in northern part of Eaton Co. Beds are post-Saginaw in age, but true stratigraphic relations to Woodville sandstone, Ionia sandstone, or other strata of Grand River group cannot be determined. Overlies Saginaw at type locality of that group. Thickness 50 ft in vicinity of Grand Ledge.
