Eastgate Volcanics of Barrows (1971, unpub. PhD thesis) is [probably] named for exposures in the Eastgate Basin, Churchill County, Nevada. Described in text as dark-colored altered quartz latite flows and tuffs. Thickness of unit is not stated. Unconformably underlies the early Miocene Middlegate Formation along the Eastgate fault. Age is Miocene [inferred]. Report includes geologic map and fossil lists.
