Named as formation in East Fork terrane. Type locality designated along crest of East Fork Hills, sec.14 T27S R25E, Medfra A-3 quad, west-central AK. Occurs along both sides of North Fork of Kuskokwim River from just east of Limestone Mountain to Hardscrabble Creek and southeastward to Moose Hill. Consists of poorly exposed sequence of dark-gray, orange-weathering finely laminated limestone and dolomitic limestone. Is several 100 m thick. Is in fault contact with Whirlwind Creek and Telsitna Formations (both new of Nixon Fork terrane). Age ranges from Early Ordovician to Middle Devonian based on conodonts (J.E. Repetski, written commun., 1977-79).
