Summary:

Pg. 31. Dover shale and sandstone. Nearly unfossiliferous shale, 85 feet thick of very arenaceous texture, of light-yellow to deep brownish-red color, containing much argillaceous sandstone. Included in Upper Coal Measures. [From statement on p. 28 appears to underlie Dover limestone and overlie Chocolate limestone of G.C. Swallow. Named from Dover, Shawnee Co., northeastern KS.] Age is Pennsylvanian.
