Summary:

Pg. 477-479. Series of strongly metamorphosed sediments, with associated metatuffs, commonly injected lit-par-lit with granitic material. In type area, dips are steep, and strike is northwesterly over ridge; exposed thickness not accurately known, but is some thousands of feet. Age is Paleozoic and (or) Mesozoic.
Type area: ridge 4 mi in length east and southeast of Winchester, Riverside Co., southern CA. Named from exposures on north side of Diamond Valley, southern CA.
