Glover, Lynn, III, 1961, Preliminary report on the geology of the Coamo Quadrangle, Puerto Rico: U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map, I-335, 1 sheet, scale 1:20,000

Summary:

The Cuevas Limestone, here named, consists of fragments of calcareous algae in a matrix ranging from pure crystalline calcite to impure detrital limestone. Overlies tuffaceous conglomerate or siltstone of the Coamo Formation with angular unconformity. Conformably underlies post-Cuevas rocks. Age is Tertiary(?).

Summary:

Cuevas Limestone assigned to Jacaguas Group and replaces the Coamo Springs Limestone Member of Hodge (1920), with which it is partly equivalent. Age of the Cuevas is changed to early(?) and middle(?) Eocene.

Summary:

The Cuevas Limestone occurs in southwestern Puerto Rico and consists of conglomerate with calcarenite algae clasts. Maximum estimated thickness is 35 meters. The Cuevas is of early middle Eocene age.
