Summary:

Named as a member of Hoxbar formation (raised in rank) in the Ardmore basin of southern OK; probably named for the Crinerville schoolhouse. Type locality designated near the center of the west half of sec 28, T5S, R1E, Carter Co, OK, a few rods north and northeast of Crinerville schoolhouse, S. Oklahoma folded belt province. Consists of a limestone 10-30 ft thick in sec 14, T5S, R1E, in the Pleasant Hill syncline; this limestone "crammed with FUSULINAS." This bed also plays out rather suddenly westward into sandstone. A corresponding bed, also containing abundant FUSULINAS, makes the trace of an inverted U in NE1/4 SW1/4 sec 7, T6S, R2E, in southward-plunging southern portion of the same syncline. Lies 400-500 ft above the Westheimer member (new) of the Hoxbar; lies 500-800 ft below Anadarche member (new) of the Hoxbar. Overlies and underlies unnamed parts of Hoxbar. Fossil list; geologic map; columnar section. Correlated with the Crinerville limestone in the Brock oil field and vicinity. Of Pennsylvanian age.
