Craigmont Member of Saddle Mountains Basalt of Columbia River Basalt Group. Present only on uplifted Nez Perce platform of the Clearwater embayment in Idaho. Consists of fine- to medium-grained basalt and rare olivine; has normal polarity. Overlies Icicle Flat Member (new) and Grangeville Member (new), and is equivalent to the upper part of the Swamp Creek Member (new); all of Saddle Mountains Basalt. Age is late Miocene.
Type locality: Craigmont, [northwestern Craigmont 7.5-min quadrangle], Lewis Co., ID.
