Named as a member of Brodhead formation. Named for Combs Mountain, Madison Co., central KY. Consists of siltstone with lesser amounts of shale and limestone. Thickness is 75 to 90 ft. Underlies Indian Fort shale member (new); overlies Conway Cut siltstone member (new). Age is Early Mississippian.
