Summary:

The Cloudland Granulite Gneiss is here named on Roan Mountain in the Blue Ridge of North Carolina and Tennessee. It is a garnetiferous granulite gneiss, intruded by the Bakersville Gabbro. Age is Middle Proterozoic, based on Rb-Sr ages.
