Pg. 3, 38, 51-53, pl. 1. Cisneros basalt of Hinsdale series. Dark-gray slightly vesicular porphyritic olivine basalt. Thickness 10 to 30 feet. Overlies Cordito member (new) of Los Pinos formation with slight angular unconformity. Not overlain by younger rocks and original upper surfaces have been destroyed. Name credited to Butler (unpub. dissert.). Age is Pliocene.
Named from Cisneros Park, [in secs. 7 and 8, T. 29 N., R. 8 E., Broke Off Mountain and San Antonio Mountain 7.5-min quadrangles, Rio Arriba Co., Carson National Forest area, central northern NM]. Found in Las Tablas quadrangle, west and north of [Canada] del Agua, and in extreme northern corner of secs. 16 and 17, T. 29 N., R. 9 E., Rio Arriba Co., [Carson National Forest area], central northern NM.
