Summary:

Chipman Formation is not used in this report. Authors use Providence Island Formation in study area and have included within it the Weybridge, Burchards, Bridport and Beldens Members previously assigned to the Chipman. Name Providence Island has precedence having been named by Ulrich and Cooper in 1938, and use of this name is in keeping with efforts to be consistent with current NY terminology (Fisher and Mazzullo, 1976)
