Summary:

Named for deposits on which Chariot base camp was built, Lisburne Peninsula, AK. Gravels are represented near mouth of Ogotoruk Valley by an old bay mouth bar whose top ranges in altitude from 34 to 42 ft. Deposits consist chiefly of friable, well-rounded, coarse- to fine-pebble gravel and interstratified sand. Thickness is about 25 ft at Chariot campsite; elsewhere thickness ranges from few in. to about 10 ft. Is younger than Ilyirak and Saligvik Gravels (both new). Age is Sangamonian(?). Shown on geologic map of area in vicinity of Chariot site, Lisburne Peninsula, AK.
