Summary:

Assigned as the upper member of the Otis Formation, middle formation of the Wapsipinicon Group (rank raised). Overlies [Coggon] Member of Otis. Upper contact revised in that member underlies Kenwood Member of the newly named Pinicon Ridge Formation of the Wapsipinicon. Consists of thin- to medium-bedded limestone and dolomite. Member has rare gastropods and bryozoans, pelletal limestones with spirorbids, laminated carbonates with birdseye and mudcracks. Areal extent of Otis is east-central IA (Iowa shelf) and adjoining northwest IL (Wisconsin arch). Areal extent of Cedar Rapids not stated. Correlation charts. Graphic sections. Of early Middle Devonian, Eifelian age. Was a restricted marine deposit.
