Summary:

Named for exposures in Cazier Canyon, Nephi NW 7 1/2 minute quad, Juab Co, UT in the Great Basin province. Type section is in Cazier Canyon in NE1/4 sec 23, T12S, R1W. The type section begins in NW1/4 sec 28 and extends into SW1/4 SW1/4 SE1/4 sec 21. Consists mostly of dark red and light to grayish-pink volcanic clasts. Clasts may be of andesite and latite. Most clasts are angular to subangular. Some quartzite clasts. Is poorly sorted and not well bedded. Exposed near type as steep ledges and cliffs. Is 230 m thick at type. Unconformably overlies Copperopolis Latite. Covered by Quaternary alluvium or colluvium. Shown as Oligocene age on correlation chart.
