Summary:

[Named for Cathedral Valley in east-central part of Cold Bay 1:250,000 quad, southwest AK.] [no type designated] Occurs only in upper reaches of Cathedral Valley (on lower western slopes of Pavlof Volcano and just north of Mt. Emmons). Consists of thick sequence of agglomerate beds with subordinate tuff beds and lava flows; rocks are predominantly basalt and basaltic andesite. Unconformably overlain by alluvium and underlain by unnamed volcanic rocks. Stated as being late Tertiary in age --"probably comparable in age to the Belkofski tuff, but direct evidence is lacking."
