Summary:

Named as basal member of Denmark formation. Named for Camp Mills, 2 mi east of Sackets Harbor, Jefferson Co., northern NY. Consists of thick, hummocky beds of rubbly-weathering, blue-gray, nodular, argillaceous calcilutite and shale with thinner intercalated beds of hard, pure calcilutite, and a few calcarenites. Maximum thickness is 12 ft. Underlies Glendale member (new); overlies Shoreham formation. Age is Middle Ordovician.
