Named as one of three granitoid bodies which compose three respective lobes of the Dunbar dome. The Bush Lake lobe is composed of the Bush Lake Granite. Name derived from Bush Lake in the type area of the lithodeme. Type area in NW1/4 sec 13, T38N, R17E, Florence SE 7 1/2-min quadrangle, Florence Co, WI. Consists of pink or gray, generally massive granite containing scattered phenocrysts of K-feldspar; mortar structure is common. Intrudes the Quinnesec Formation but relation to other units is not definitely known. Assigned to the Early Proterozoic.
