Summary:

On road log map named as formation of Mariposa Group [of Taliaferro (1933)], Mariposa Co, CA. Consists chiefly of light-green, light-brown, and pinkish tuffaceous sandstone and conglomerate with some muscovite schist derived from rhyolite tuff. Is in contact with metavolcanic rocks of Agua Fria Formation [of underlying Amador Group]. Also is in contact with overlying Mariposa Slate (Mariposa Group). In text referred to as Brushy Canyon Member of Mariposa Formation.
