Summary:

Pg. 137. Brown County bed of Valentine formation of Ogallala group. Name applied to a 2-foot bed of diatomaceous marl, from which arboreous flora was collected and described by Chaney and Elias, 1936 [Late Tertiary floras from the High Plains, Carnegie Inst. Washington Pub., no. 476]. Is at a slightly lower horizon than Niobrara River channel sand of the Valentine. Age is Pliocene.
