Summary:

Bristol Pass limestone named for Bristol Pass [Fairview Peak 7.5' quad, Lincoln Co, NV]. Occurs in summit of hill immediately north of bench mark 6149 [Fairview Peak 7.5' quad, Lincoln Co, NV]. Consists of gray, finely crystalline limestone, with a few cherty beds, and is sparingly fossiliferous. Full thickness of unit is unknown. Greatest thickness (305 ft) is at Dutch John Mountain. Age is Early Mississippian (Madison) on the basis of fossils [corals, brachiopods, mollusks] identified by G.H. Girty.
