Summary:

Pg. 30 (table 1), 35. Revised to Brier slate member of Vulcan iron-formation of Menominee group (reinstated) of Animikie series. Present in Iron and Dickinson Counties, northwestern Michigan (Lake Superior region). Overlies Traders iron-bearing member and underlies Curry iron-bearing member. Age is considered middle Precambrian (Animikie Series). As defined here, Vulcan iron-formation includes (ascending) Traders iron-bearing member, Brier slate member, Curry iron-bearing member, and Loretto slate member. Report includes stratigraphic sequence chart.
