Summary:

Name applied to most of the quartzose intrusive rocks south of Jerome-Prescott area, Yavapai Co, AZ in Southwestern Basin-and-Range region. Found to consist of several different intrusives (granodiorite, granite, and alaskite). Abandoned and replaced by (oldest to youngest): unnamed gabbro, and quartz diorite, Government Canyon Granodiorite (new), Prescott Granodiorite (new), unnamed quartz monzonite and alaskite, coarse-grained granite, Dells Granite, and fine-grained granite.
