Unit named for occurrence 3.4 km east of Boston, Highland Co., OH. Described as yellowish-brown calcareous till. Contains sparse pebbles and cobbles in compact, uncemented silt loam matrix. Thickness ranges from 2 to 3 m. Overlies Rainsboro drift/till; underlies surface loess cap. Name originally from author's 1970 Ph.D. thesis. Dated at 21,080+/-200 ka.

Boston Till of Highland Co. mapped in Ross Co. Areally, texturally, and compositionally distinct from all other tills in Ross Co. Reference section designated. Till is friable, pebble-rich, yellow-brown. Leached of carbonates to depth of 32 in. Thickness 7 ft. Underlies unnamed loess. Age is late Wisconsinan.
