Summary:

The informal Border gneiss of Hillhouse (1960) is here formally named in the Lovingston massif in the central Blue Ridge, VA. It consists of feldspathic and garnet graphite gneisses and separates the Roseland Anorthosite from the other units of the massif. Age is Middle Proterozoic.
