Type section located on cutbanks along small west-flowing tributary of Blankenship Creek, south side of Lisburne Ridge, NE/4 sec.36 T9S R21W, Howard Pass (1:250,000) quad, northern AK. Recognized as far east as gorge of Atigun River in Philip Smith Mountains quad (location of reference section). Pelecypods and ammonites indicate age ranges from middle Early Jurassic through early Middle Jurassic.
