Summary:

Unit is named the Big River Dolostone for the Big River west of Lone Mountain, Alaska. Consists of dolomitic mudstone with fenestral fabric and numerous packstone to grainstone beds composed of poorly-sorted coated grains having a maximum diameter of 10 mm. Weathers light to medium gray; fresh color is medium to dark gray. Thickness is 198.5 m at type. Lower contact with the Windy Fork Formation (new) is sharp and conformable; upper contact with Lone Formation (new) is sharp and conformable. Age is Late(?) Proterozoic.
