Summary:

[Probably named for Bieber, Lassen Co, CA]. Underlies all of Big Valley and Round Valley in northeast CA. Consists of lake deposits of interbedded gravel, white sand, black sand, clay, silt, and diatomite. Is at least 1000 feet thick. Probably underlain by similar materials belonging to Turner Creek formation (new). Underlies in may places thin veneer of younger deposits and some adjacent basalt flows. Is Pliocene and Pleistocene age.
