Summary:

Name extended from MO into Lucas Co, IA on the Iowa shelf where it is newly assigned as a member of the newly named Swede Hollow Formation of Cherokee Group of Des Moines Supergroup. Unnamed sandstone and shale interval between Bevier and the underlying Wheeler Coal Member of Swede Hollow is usually less than 20 ft. Varies in thickness; rarely exceeds one ft thick. Underlies unnamed brown silty mudstone of Swede Hollow, or where mudstone is absent, underlies unnamed nodular, fossiliferous, slightly argillaceous limestone. Nomenclature chart. Graphic section. Cross section. Is of Desmoinesian, Pennsylvanian age.
