Summary:

Pg. 4 (table 1), 34, fig. 12. Benton Range basalt. Report on potassium-argon dating research pertinent to some problems of Cenozoic history of Sierra Nevada. Age of the Benton Range basalt (basalt at Benton Range on fig. 12) is [Pliocene], based on a radiometric (K-Ar) age of 3.2 +/-0.1 Ma.
Samples collected 2,000 ft N. 47 deg. E. from SW/4 sec. 20, T. 2 S., R. 31 E., Mount Morrison 30- x 60-min quadrangle, at 7,500 ft elevation, eastern CA.
