Summary:

Beldens Dolostone Member is here assigned to the Providence Island Formation rather than the Chipman Formation. Use of Providence Island has precedence and furthermore is in keeping with current NY terminology. Beldens is present from Cornwall Ledges eastward, while Bridport Dolostone Member occurs west of ledges. Conodont analysis (Chisick, unpub) indicates a Whiterockian age.
