Summary:

Named for Beckers Butte, AZ as basal member of Martin Formation. Type section near mouth of Flying V Canyon in SW1/4 SW1/4 sec 29, T5N, R18E (projected), Gila Co., AZ in Basin-and-Range province. Extends northwestward to Yavapai Co., AZ. Consists predominantly of sandstone. 15 ft thick in type section. Rests unconformably on Precambrian diabase. Overlain by Jerome Member. Is of Early or Middle Devonian age. Deposited in fluvial environment.
