Pg. P8. Bearhead Rhyolite of Keres Group. Rhyolite tuffs, flows, domes, and associated shallow intrusions. [Thickness not stated.] Includes Peralta Tuff Member (new). Unconformably overlies Paliza Canyon Formation of Keres Group; interfingers with Cochiti Formation; underlies gravel deposits. Age is middle Pliocene, [based on stratigraphic position].
[Type locality:] exposures on Bearhead Peak, Jemez Mountains, Santo Domingo Pueblo quadrangle, Sandoval Co., north-central NM, one of the larger source vents of the formation.
