Summary:

Pg. 19-21. Beacon till. Oldest glacial deposit in area. Consists of stones of all sizes embedded in compact clayey matrix. Deposited directly by ice at base (rather than in front of) an actively moving glacier. Underlies Duwamish formation (new). Age is Pleistocene.
Exposed in brick pit on west side of Beacon Hill just south of Spokane Street in Seattle, northwestern WA.
