Named Bayshore Clay Member of the Tamiami Formation for the Bayshore Waterway, Charlotte Co., FL. Consists of white to tan phosphatic sandy clay. Unit is 0.3 meter thick. It overlies the Hawthorn Formation and underlies the Murdock Station Member of the Tamiami Formation. The Bayshore is of Pliocene age.

Peace River Formation (new) of Hawthorn Group includes siliciclastic beds previously placed in the Tamiami Formation by Parker (1951) and in the Murdock Station and Bayshore Clay Members of the Tamiami by Hunter (1968).
