Pg. 52 (table 2), 64 (table 3), pl. 1. Battery Rock cyclothem. Recognized in southwestern and southeastern Illinois. Occurs above Lusk cyclothem and below Pounds cyclothem. Age is Pennsylvanian. Report presents new rock-stratigraphic classification of Pennsylvanian strata in Illinois. Cyclical classification retained but is entirely independent of rock-stratigraphic classification; includes rocks also assigned to Caseyville formation of McCormick group (new).
