Summary:

Bartlett barren member of Mesaverde formation. Light-gray to white lenticular sandstone, light-gray clay shale, and thin irregular coal beds, but none of commercial importance. Thickness 330 to 400 feet. Underlies Gibson coal member and overlies Dilco coal member, all belonging to Mesaverde formation. Age is Late Cretaceous.
Named from excellent exposures near old Bartlett mine shaft, which penetrates lower half of the member, [in sec. 4, T. 15 N., R. 18 W., McKinley Co.], Gallup-Zuni basin, northwestern NM.

Summary:

Bartlett barren member of the Mesaverde formation reassigned to Crevasse Canyon formation (adopted) of Mesaverde group in southwest part of San Juan basin near Gallup. Term Mesaverde group extended throughout entire San Juan basin of southwest CO and northwest NM. Is third from base of four members of Crevasse Canyon. Overlies Dalton sandstone member and underlies restricted Gibson coal member, both of Crevasse Canyon. Small geologic map. Diagrammatic cross section. Is of Late Cretaceous age.
