Summary:

Unit is named the Barren Ridge Limestone for Barren Ridge located in the southeastern part of the McGrath 1:250,000 quad, AK. Consists of relatively pure limestone, calcareous siltstone, and sandy limestone. Lower contact with the Terra Cotta Mountains Sandstone in Graptolite Canyon may be thrust fault, while contact elsewhere is covered; upper contact of unit is unknown. Thickness is 300 m. Age is here considered to be Devonian(?) as unit is unfossiliferous.
