Summary:

Pg. 10-14. Barney Creek Amphibolite of North Snowy Group. Consists of black, dark-gray metamorphosed basaltic flows and tuffs. Thickness ranges from 60 to 240 m at type section. Occurs adjacent to George Lake Marble. Age is Precambrian W.
Type section: exposures on crest of ridge west of South Fork of Pine Creek at head of Barney Creek, Beartooth Mountains, Park Co., south-central MT.
