Occurs above Jamestown cyclothem and below Cutler cyclothem. Age is Pennsylvanian. Report presents new rock-stratigraphic classification of Pennsylvanian of Illinois. Cyclical classification is retained but is independent of rock-stratigraphic classification; includes rocks also assigned to Carbondale formation of Kewanee group (new).
