Pg. 879 (fig. 1), 890, App. Badger Valley Basalts. Consists of basalt thin cappings over pyroclastic rocks. Total thickness of all flows probably not over 200 feet. Unconformable upon all formations from the Paleozoic rocks through Alamo Range Formation (new). Present only in two small areas as thin cappings over the pyroclastic rocks. Age is Pliocene(?) based on stratigraphic relations.
Type area: southern end of Badger Valley, south rim of Hogback west of road in east-central part of T. 8 A., R. 60 E., Pahranagat area, Lincoln Co., southeastern NV.
