Pg. 22. Bacon Creek Member of Hell Creek Formation. Variegated shale and bentonite. Forms rugged badlands. Thickness 36 m at type; ranges from 22 to 36 m. Overlies and interfingers with Marmarth Member; underlies Huff Member. Age is Late Cretaceous.
Type section: west of Bacon Creek, in SE/4 sec. 23, T. 133 N., R. 106 W., Slope Co., southwestern ND. Extends into MT.
