Named as member in upper part of Seabee formation of Colville group for exposures along Ayiyak River, northern AK. Type locality designated along east fork of Tuluga River (68 deg 50'N and between 151 deg 28'W and 151 deg 35'W), also location of measured type section. Cannot be differentiated from rest of Seabee formation north of Umiat-Maybe Creek area. Composed of greenish gray, somewhat tuffaceous siltstone and silt shale with subordinate sandstone. Locally "salt-and-pepper" sandstone occurs in lowermost part. Is 360 ft thick at type. Overlies dark marine clay shale of Seabee formation. Underlies nonmarine beds of Tuluvak tongue of Prince Creek formation of Colville group. Contains fossils of early Turonian through Coniacian age [Late Cretaceous].
