Summary:

Pg. 15, 21; 1962, IN Contributions to the geology of south Texas: San Antonio, South Texas Geol. Soc., p. 86, 92. Atascosa group. Defined as consisting of formations above the Pearsall and below the Del Rio formation, that is, Georgetown, McKnight (new), Edwards, Glen Rose, and Stuart City (new) formations and the fine-grained limestone sequence (Atascosa group undifferentiated) of the fore-reef province. Age is Early Cretaceous.
Report includes four geologic provinces: San Marcos platform, Maverick basin, Stuart City reef trend, and fore-reef province. Atascosa Co., southern TX, is in this area.
