Cooper, G.A., and Williams, J. Stuart, 1935, Tully formation of New York: Geological Society of America Bulletin, v. 46, no. 5, p. 781-868.

Summary:

Apulia member of Tully formation. Though Apulia was proposed by Conrad in 1841 for a part of the Hamilton group, the unit was soon discarded and almost forgotten. Because of scarcity of local names in Tully township the name is here revived, but with new meaning. Unit, which is referred to as Apulia member of Tully formation, described as hard, heavy-bedded arenaceous limestone containing abundant HYPOTHYRIDINA at several levels. Thickness at type is 17 feet 3 inches, while at Bellona, only 2 feet 6 inches. Underlies West Brook member of Tully and overlies Tinkers Falls member of Tully. Age is Devonian.
Type section is designated in the ravine adjacent to June's quarry, 1.5 mi southwest of Apulia Station.
